Gloucester, MA, April 29, 2025: Cape Ann Savings Bank announces the appointment of Ken Riehl as a Trustee of the Cape Ann Savings Bank. The appointment was made by unanimous vote at the April 24, 2025, quarterly meeting of the Cape Ann Savings Bank Board of Trustees.

Ken has established himself as a prominent community leader through his impactful role as the CEO of the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce from 2013 to 2022. Under his guidance, the Chamber experienced solid growth, increasing its member base to over 1,000 earning the distinction of being the fifth largest chamber in the commonwealth with the most expansive programming on the North Shore. His leadership was pivotal especially during the highly challenging time of the pandemic. Additionally, Ken spearheaded the development of the Cape Ann License Plate including the formation of the Cape Ann Community Foundation which has given away more than $100,000 to local non-profits and schools, aligning with Cape Ann Savings Bank's commitment to community welfare. Prior to his tenure at the Chamber, Ken had a successful thirty-year career in the Defense Aerospace Industry and holds degrees in engineering and management.

When asked about joining the Bank’s Board, Ken states, “I am deeply honored to be joining the Board of Trustees at Cape Ann Savings Bank. We did a lot of terrific work together supporting our Cape Ann Communities while I was leading the Chamber, and I look forward to continuing this work as part of the bank's Board. Cape Ann Savings continues as a pivotal partner with the Chamber and a leading advocate for community.”

Marianne Smith, President of Cape Ann Savings Bank states, “Ken’s passion for and commitment to the Cape Ann Community mirrors that of the Cape Ann Savings Bank. While with the Chamber Ken had the unique experience of being exposed to and working with a myriad of small businesses. I’m excited to hear his ideas of how we can become a better service provider to businesses on and around Cape Ann. Ken is a great complement to our existing Board of Trustees and l look forward to working together for years to come.”

Ken’s continued commitment to local engagement is exemplified through his current roles on the Board of the Cape Ann Community Foundation and as this year’s Co-President of the Manchester-Essex Rotary Club. Additionally, Ken generously volunteers his expertise as an advisor to several organizations, including Cape Ann Art Haven, the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, Cape Ann Plein Air, UMass Gloucester Marine Station, and TownGreen. He also serves as a Seasonal Property Steward for the Trustees of the Reservations at the Crane Estate, having “fun” driving large tractors and as tour boat captain.
